“I don’t scale by working more hours. I scale by building a better system with the brain.”
I’ve managed Google Ads for small and medium businesses since 2013, solo, doing premium work for clients who normally couldn’t afford that level of attention. Over the last year I moved off Notion. I started from Mike’s brain, adapted it to how I actually work, and kept building on it. It began as task management and now handles a good part of my daily work.
It all lives on an always-on Mac Mini that keeps running while I sleep, so a lot is already prepared by the time I sit down in the morning. The AI makes changes too, but only after I approve them. Nothing goes live in a client account until I’ve looked at it. AI is the lever, I stay the one in control.
I also helped a lawyer set up Claude Code and build a lean version of this brain for their practice, so I know the first steps from the other side.
A command center
One dashboard that pulls everything together: which accounts need attention, which emails I still owe a reply, my tasks for today, new research worth reading, and the status of every automated job. My own build, improved with Mike’s Workbench.
It runs itself
Recurring jobs run on a loop without me starting them: rebuilding the cockpit, rating new research, checking landing pages, refreshing performance data. A lot is already done when I wake up.
It watches my accounts
A warning system for the things that quietly cost money: a suspended account, a landing page going down or its SSL expiring, conversion tracking breaking, a budget spending far above normal. If something real breaks, I get a push. Everything else waits for the morning.
It diagnoses and produces
Audit tools that each check one area (structure, budgets, bidding, keywords, tracking, landing pages) and tell me what to fix next. And it builds real client-facing work: landing pages, offers, competitor analyses, even a Google Business Profile audit, all from real data and in my own voice.
It runs my own website
I rebuilt my entire site with the brain and manage it from there now, from new pages to blog posts, all in my own voice.
You don’t need to be technical, and it doesn’t matter which system you’re on. I work on both Windows and Mac. If you can describe your work, you can build a system around it.
